DSTV Drifta

I will kill for a drifta + coverage in Stellenbosch. Used a rather large amount of data on Friday streaming a rugby game with justin.tv

I remember last year sitting in traffic watching a superrugby game (on justin.tv) with my phone hooked up to my car's audio (had an aux-in in my old car). Great way to kill the traffic. Maybe not that safe though...

"I will kill for a drifta + coverage in Stellenbosch"

I was at the Berg River resort over the long weekend and i was convinced that i would not have coverage but to my suprise i did. I know its not stellenbosch but surely if Paarl has coverage, Stellenbosch should have ?

i'm interested in when they have the app for laptops available

Not sure what you mean as the drifta comes with a CD for installation on any windows PC or Laptop. The only thing is that the picture will not display in full screen, it will only display in a small window.

There is however no option for any Mac OS devices yet only iOS....

Not sure but I think Paarl has a better line of sight to Cape Town than Stellenbosch (as someone else told me). I have tried at my flat in Dalsig but didn't get reception. Will try and get my hands on one again and test it at work in Technopark - that's all I want.

I found that in some spots in my house, especially covered areas, ie lots of trees, thick walls etc i didnt pickup coverage, however if i went outside, acquired signal and then went back in the house, it was fine....

Yup, I do the same at work - seems to lock onto the signal and then holds onto it in weak areas.

has anyone managed to figure out the time delay with the E Entertainment Channel , content displayed on the phone is completely different to the Schedule posted on the drfita mobile site , all you see on the phone is E Entertainment news all day:(:(

Can anyone shed some light about the whole R36 monthly payment that was supposed to kick in from 1 April? How is one supposed to pay this, and why am I able to view all channels seeing as I havent paid anything?

As I understood dstv premium subscribers get it for free till April 2012.

Dunno about the laptops but the output is pretty decent (nowhere near HD but watchable) on an iPad

According to what I've read multichoice updated the decoder app for JB devices due to someone posting on their forums mentioning that they use TV-out via a cydia app.
IMHO from what I've seen on my iPad I wasn't that impressed, too blurry for me :(

Got a link to the fixed version on my site if you are still interested :) Sure there are a lot of JB users who would love it! http://iphoneza.co.za/forums/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=349

I use a VGA adaptor for iPhone - works OK, but on larger screens it does look terrible!

Thanks fxit. Did not want to post a link as I thought it would be contravening something somewhere. It's a free app, so it probably won't be considered piracy, but rather safe than sorry! Lol
