According to MultiChoice, subscribers willing to put up the ±R2,500 for the new decoder can expect the following new features:
- BUGS
- MORE BUGS
- EVEN MORE BUGS
- Disabled USB
- Disabled Ethernet
The existing HD-4P PVR is the most buggy consumer product I ever had the misfortune of owning.
Features like USB, SATA, Ethernet are still disabled on the 4P decoders.
The HD-PVR is s-l-o-w.
Rewind, pause, fast-forward take ages to respond.
The HD-PVR uses an unusually high amount of electricity (Eskom should investigate).
No it's not my device or installation, lots of people have the same issues with the 4P,4U,2P,2U decoders.
See the forums for details.
Why should anyone trust DSTV to make a better product?
Why should anyone trust DSTV to enable Ethernet, USB?
Why should anyone trust DSTV to fix bugs in the firmware?
They can't even fix the exiting HD-PVR, so what's changed?
