I did say the price was a little high but there are a few worthwhile channels. At least they were worthwhile when I still had DSTV. These days my only real exposure to the service is at B&Bs.
 
They really needed to come up with a fresh, easy and dynamic way of structuring their service to get me on board again. Instead they've created a minefield of complicated bundles and compulsory bits and pieces. No thanks. I waste enough time trying to optimise my cellphone packages without this additional hassle.

It's not really that complicated and hardly a world first either.

You get the basic entertainment package then add on the sports and/or movie channels.
 
...and their streaming service they were releasing to much (or less!) fanfare? Did they forget about that, or is their current streaming service (pixilation on a 50Mbps fibre line and all) it?
 
R299 for a package with M-Net is pretty good. Are there still people on M-Net only packages, what are you paying?

For someone who doesn't care about sport, this is a good package considering that you get HBO, Showtime and Disney content.
 
So let me get this straight - I must pay R299 for flex basic package, and then add R349 for the sport I love to watch (rugby, cricket, golf, tennis and motorsport) - and probably still the R110 access fee to be able to utilize my Explora... all equals to R758 pm - wow that is an impressive deal...NOT!!! This exclude the movie and Flieknet channel (R99). If Multichoice offers the sport only package at R349 (for my taste) or full sport for R499 - I will get myself a HD decoder and immediately sign up. I do not need the ever repeating "flex basic" package. The streaming service forever buffers even on a 50 mbps line. I do not need the ever repeating "flex basic" package.

Take the antenna down rather.

Sport is expensive. The 1st world countries pay much more for this much sport.

That is what's known as a satellite dish.

And it fell off the wall on it's own a few months back. Only the mounting arm survives. :D

Don't forget the over R100 pm access fee for PVR / XtraView / Catch Up access, and then still no Movies 1 and 2 channels without about another R100 pm. Nope.


I've been on their basic Movies Plus arrangement with the Access package (different from the access fee, but have that as well) for just over R300 pm - it's been okay, but if it weren't for some other DStv usage option on my property I'm not sure it would have been enough.
And the movies have dried up of late... the plain Access package offers more with that on the TNT and eMovies channels currently.

If no other usage, I may have wanted the sport as well for cricket etc., far too much then.

I don't think there will be an access fee for a streaming only package. I've used the Premium streaming only package before, and it works quite well. If it costs anything more than R299 then I won't be interested.

Agreed, If you are happy with the channels on offer excluding sport - then I will say the R299 pm is a good deal.
 
It's not enough flexibility for most, and all that's changed is a basic module now developed instead of a basic package and intro of the non-soccer sports module.

Far from individual channels choice.
 
I doubt they'll actually launch this. Would likely further erode their Premium subscriber base
