I used to get that with my old dsd660 decoder. Never had a problem since I replaced it with a new one.

If your DSTV is freezing, maybe you should try wrapping it in a blanky.....hahahaha

Just kidding, I replaced my Decoder to the 1110 and realigned dish. Problem resolved.

i'm using dsd990 but probably does need the dish to be removed since one of our big trees might be blocking it sometimes :p

btw does the dish need to be cleaned?

I've heard it happens with the new one 110(?). They have the latest smartcard with extra security and I think the decryption isn't working well hence the freezing.

my dsd990 goes into what I call "black screen" mode quite often. You can still change channels and see the info bar but the whole screen is black. The only way to correct this is to pull the power plug on the decoder and to let it rescan.

The only way to fix DSTV is place the decoder in a fire. Then buy a book.

Yip mine too , seems it was the satelite that moved a bit , but then it was fine again.

Happens now and again , I still enjoy my Dstv.

Yes... The satellite in the vacuum of space at a constant speed and altitude was moved by little satellite faeries.
