DStv gets two more Discovery channels

These two Discovery channels suck. There is already a crime channel and plenty of crappy reality channels. What they should have brought was Discovery Science.
 
Will these channels be WS?
When will the rest of the channels be made WS - especially SuperSport.

Meh. Since DSTV started showing Home shopping stuff during the day instead of in the 2am slot its been downhill.

The number of times when one goes through all the channels and there is absolutely _nothing_ worth watching on any of them is increasing. Even the old standby - news is on a 20min loop playing the same stories over & over. Just one huge selection of re-runs. [*]

* This of course does not include the 3 hours of Carte Blanche & Sunday night movie. I was mainly talking about the other 165 hours of the week.
 
Guys, its all about money, DSTV would rather buy more cheap "Budget bouquets" than invest in a few good quality premium bouquets, its a fact hence why there is no Syfy, Animal Planet HD, MTV 2 or Discovery Science because those are high on demand and only come in "premium bouquets", and thus costs far more than cheap music, reality or home reality Stations.

I dunno man dstv has plenty quality, syfy really an expensive channel all i remember was crap on it. What good stuff did it have?
 
Awesome I love home and food things. But they should really fix the style channel. It disconnect all the time, and the other channels are fine. Bloody hell. I watch the cheesy stuff at night when everyone sleeps and its been giving connection errors for over a month !! :mad:
 
New channels not WS - FAIL

Can't believe that these new channels are not WS.

The content is broadcast postbox & pillar box!

Wake up DSTV - transmit it correctly and while you are about it also
120 - BBC-E
121 - Discovery
125 - Zone Reality
180 - BBC-L
181 - Travel
182 - Home
200-210 - SuperSport
etc.

If FTV and Style can be in WS, why can't the rest of the bouquet?

I agree, can anyone actually tell me why they want syfy on tv? Firstly it's not what it used to be and secondly the one we had in here was rubbish.

We downgraded to compact thereby saving R300pm. On principle I scan the premium channels every night and gloat about what I'm not missing.

You might want to rethink that.

About 80-90% of HBO exclusive content is/was available here on dstv,and even fta tv (Sopranos,The wire).The comedy specials most people prefer to download
as they prefer to keep it.
