DStv HD improvement

I disagree. Most installations seems to have no problem receiving the channel.

The 2x partners in our firm and myself don't receive that channel, that's just us, guess we'll have to wait and see.

Most likely proper resets will solve this and more info from MC .

I have not checked yet, but if my HD PVR is not focused on the channel, which will mean I will have play with my Dish & LNB to get it into focus. Once that is done, what will happen to the signal strength & quality of my SD PVR using the same LNB?

Should actually be improved.

I don't have to wait and see. I'm the guy installers call when they have problems :)

The 2 partners in the firm probably just need to flash reset their decoders...

Reset the decoder properly. There is a flash reset procedure that DStv is not passing on to end users, because it resets all settings (XtraView, TVlink, RF output etc).

ENsure you're in the "all channels" section, not the "your favourites" mode.

Thanks guys will do sommer a stukkend reset when I get home tonight.

Several customers called me in a flap last week, since although their regular channels worked on HD, all of a sudden they were getting "Not connected to Set Top Box" messages when keying in 425 from the down arrow/all channels.

My neighbour had this episode on 26th June, and her signal strength is 100% and quality 98% and the LNB is under a year old, with a 80cm dish. Today it is fine. Maybe MC have been fiddling.

Getting that message, how to fix?

So is there a difference at all in quality now?

It is not about quality... It is about broadcast efficiency. New modulation. Switchover appears to have gone down smoothly, so far, but people with problems will likely only notice it after work today.

Note that your viewing environment has to be set to "all channels" to access channel 425. Press the TV button to check your viewing environment. I had mine set to "my channels" initially, and kept getting an error message.

Ahh going to try that tonight, mine kept giving me an error saying channel does not exist.

You don't have to worry about 425 anymore. Part of the switchover happened last night. Check if 104, 105, 106, 108 works. Those are now on DVB-S2.
