DSTV iDrifta for iPad. Anyone have experience?

There are DSTV drifta guys in Makro walking up to customers and selling iPad driftas and USB laptop driftas. The one guy came up to me and offered me a special promotion price of R499 for the iPad iDrifta saying it is a special promotion.

I read here it was launched the 1st of June and the suggested retail price is R499 so the sales guy was BSing me with the special promotion price. Still the device might be useful for sporting events like cricket where the ipad battery life should last a while.

Has anyone bought this new iPad one yet. How is quality and impact on iPad battery life?
 
I haven't heard of the ipad drifta yet but I use the normal wifi drifta on my ipad and it works great. Quality wise the drifta is merely ok, but its to be expected with a device that can only output 320 x 240 resolutions. The drifta battery life is only about 3-4 hours so your ipad would easily outlast it(unless u have your brightness set quite high).
 
I haven't used it either but when I asked on the DSTV forum whether the IDrifta makes use of the full iPad screen the answer given was YES. Not sure whether this applies to the normal Drifta as well? I know on PC's it only uses a portion of the screen and can not be resized.
 
IDrifta is currently not working on IOS 6.1 and its anyone's guess when it will....

Just ebucks spoilt myself on an iDrifta (arriving in the week) - are there still issues with iOS 6.1? Have they fixed things for 6.1.3?
