DStv is ditching Flash

But the million-dollar question is: Will the stream quality improve? It can't get any worse. (or can it?)

Are my eyes misleading me or do SuperSport streams max out at 960x540 1200kbps, they should be ashamed.

How is this news? Just shows how terrible and slow the company is

It is news because those that subscribe to MCs services keep getting less and less for more money!

What? By not using Flash it's opened streaming to devices that you can't use Flash on, like you know the billion or so Android and iOS devices out there...

Also Flash is a steaming pile of unsecured **** and should be obliterated from existence.

But not before an alternative is available for those with PCs and laptops who want to be able to download for later viewing!

This is very true.

However, they shouldn't have switched over without launching a replacement desktop player (not that I ever used it). Like OP in this thread, streaming isn't always going to work.

Utter BS! I work remotely and streaming on the wifi I have at my guest house, is useless...you'll take 2 weeks to watch a 30min programme! There's no DSTV available, so I rely on being able to download, to prevent myself going crazy! Now, sadly I lose this little privilege as well. Don't think for 1 second, that DSTV will offer anything in its place, besides "you can still download on Android" WTF, imagine my eyesight after a few weeks of staring into a cellphone screen to watch a movie! Utterly pathetic! I used to be able to watch on a 32" TV, now "upgraded" to a 4.3" or 10.1" screen...now that's real progress!
