DStv Mobile gets competitor: On Demand Group

So you can stream video content to you phone using the 3G network for a set monthly fee - now why can they offer similar data usage on their network for a similar fixed monthly fee? Wouldn't that be nice.

no doubt subject to fair use = another useless service

Even if i could download data to the equivalent of one tv show per day for R75 per month i would go for that.

well, at least one can watch more content. Maybe DStv will also increase their cap. Otherwise not a product for me.

thanks, but no... so if you watch too much, they throttle.... fail, ill stick to torrents for my needs.

The article says data charges for mobile DStv are flat rated, but doesn't mention data charges for Vodacom On Demand. Is this the catch?

FUP = fail. How can I decide if I want to get this if I don't know how much of it I can use??

So you can subscribe and watch shows on your phone but you aren't allowed to watch too many.
wtf?

Will 3G network cope?

I am using vodacom 3g from time to time and I am not extremely happy with the service. How will their network cope with the extra usage?

TV with a cap, LOL! Typical DSTV, from shoving 100's of garbage repeated channels to this, a handful of their crappiest channels. Guess it does cater well to the african + childrens markets though, but Weather24? Africa Magic? DSTV-Events? I want to see Telkom burn to the ground along with DSTV.

The ODG shows look great by comparison, quality content.
