Hey guys.
My dstv now app has an issue where every channel is 5 minutes delayed. Had this issue since last week when the app updated.
 
My dstv now app also got a new look and feel last night. It's horrible - I hate it. Now you scroll down to see the channels but some channels have no information and you can't watch them. I'm sure the new software has some bugs in it. Anyone else have these issues?
 
While I like the look of the new app, it does have its quirks. For example, every now and then, I get this weird freezing/pause issue where the stream will freeze and then speed up again to catch up with the audio. I think this might have something to do with my TV (as it is almost 8 years old), although with the older version of the app, this NEVER happened. Haven't tried reloading the app on my MiBox, doubt that will help, but perhaps it is just a software issue / bug that needs to ironed out...I hope.

That mini-freeze also occurs on my MediaBox Mediator since the latest update.

Otoh, it's nice that a mini-guide has eventually been implemented.

Good to know that I'm not alone with that mini-freeze issue.

Yeah, the mini guide is awesome and I love the new interface, and the way that episodes and descriptions are laid out.
 
So none of u are experiencing the 6 minute delay? Do you guys not watch sport?
 
The app itself is slow af rn. It's the most irritating thing to use

I stream my sport now as F1 was the only thing I ever used to watch on DSTV
And this is like 50 odd bux a month compared to DSTV
and when the Okes are racing you can jump into anyones cockpit and race with them which is pretty cool

50 bucks as in $ ? Is it just f1?
 
Multichoice is such a joke. I literally just use it for sport but now I'm watching sport that's 6 minutes late. That service sounds legit but I need a streaming service with more sporting options

I haven't experienced a 6 minute delay though. I was watching sport this past weekend (united rugby championship), but only experienced the mini-freeze issue that I described above.

What device are u using? I'm using an android tv box
 
Update: I'm using the dstv now app on my smart TV and laptop and it works prefect and isn't delayed. Must be an issue with my ematic android TV box
 
5 min delay on all channels on Mygica 495Max and Nvidia Shield... lots of buffering on a 200Mbps line. interface, guide, channels take a long time to load.. damn Monochoice..
 
Was watching the football yesterday and there was a 5 minute delay when I checked the scores on phone app to what was on TV.

I’m using Xbox 1 with the app- the update is horrific- app is slow, sometimes channels freeze then speed up- worst off I’ve had to re install the app twice due to scrolling to fast and causing the app to bomb out.

**** is frustrating.
 
Trash service from a bad company. Hopefully they get their techs to fix this soon with another update.

Sounds the same as an issue I've seen with the app for at least 5 years when casting to a TV. Maybe you were lucky in the past if you didn't notice it before in the media player app, but it's been the case for ages on Chromecast etc.

No delay when watching directly on the website though, as you mentioned.
 
Does anybody have missing channel info? If I select the sport channels then the first few channels have the info and you can watch but then from say the rugby channel onwards there is no info and you can't watch anything. If you select all channels and scroll down to the sport section then those channels have their info there - sometimes. This new version of the app is crap. I'm going to see if I can install an older version of the app which worked fine. I'm using it on an android tv box (Mecool Km9 Pro).
