Also using the DSTV Now app on MTN LTE on prepaid and DAMN it is good. Watched Masterchef while on MTN LTE and the quality is pretty impressive to be honest. It is a data hog so be prepared for that but the quality of the stream is just amazing actually. It was only like 20 second behind the actual channel on DSTV which was good to see.

Big ups to the guys for making a very impressive app and it is totally worth it if you have DSTV premium.
 
Working great on the Galaxy Note 8 after yesterday's update. Still no go on the Note 4.

Sorry for the delayed reply.
I don't know what bitrate they use on the SuperSport app but DStv Now uses adaptive bitrate, so the better you reconnection speed/quality, the better the picture. You'll see that when you start streaming something, it'll initially look a bit blocky, but as your line speed catches up it'll get progressively better and better.

My Galaxy S2 and Minix Neo X7, both running Custom ROM's and rooted, were successfully registered and the app plays perfectly? What gives with the X8?

No hassles with the SuperSport app on the X8, although it is not completely full-screen (95% coverage).

Are you the same person chatting to me on the DStv Forum?
I'll need to check if our DRM provider supports the Minix Neo - I know there's a handful of Android devices that currently don't work. What version of Android is it running?

So weird. I have a feeling that it may be because your Note 4 is rooted. We're not allowed to support rooted devices in terms of our studio contracts. But I see it does work on some rooted devices, which is doubly weird.

The app says, unfortunately DSTV Now has stopped, as soon as I try to watch anything on my S4.

I've removed root on the Note 4 due to some performance issues, and now have full functionality. Thank you for the offer though. I'm happy

So now I have to go through a lot of effort to hide root from the app.

My best guess would be that they think by rooting the device you could potentially bypass the DRM in the app and pirate the content you download. Then, you know, it's dogs and cats living together, the Apocalypse, mass hysteria...basically the worst parts of the Bible...

Old men is right, why would I need to bypass the DRM? If I can just record the screen.... without even being rooted.
 
Just want to report a bug.

I downloaded fast and furious 6 via the DSTV now android app and the movie that played after the download was completed was not fast and furious 6 it was some random other movie.

When I deleted that movie from my downloads section and went back to fast and furious 6 in the app it did not detect that I had deleted the file and when I clicked watch again it started streaming the correct fast and furious 6 movie however the quality was poor and it was buffering. I don't see a download button for that movie again now?
