This is the response I got when I queried it via twitter. They actually don't have a clue about what's going on.

Didn't even know the Apple tv gets updated. Better put it on manual.
 
I streamed Ireland vs AB's from my iPhone4 to AppleTV Gen2 without issues.
 
Works from Mac if you play it in your browser and turn on mirroring.

Definitely doesn't work from my phone.
 
Was able to load the Android app on a Samsung series 8 TV and this streams DSTV easily

Installed the update but I had airplay support before the update, I could airplay live and catchup to ATV4, quality wasn't good though.
 
Actually quite surprised how well airplay is working. Biggest gripe is quality at the moment, definitely not upscaling to maximum resolution.

Most probably the OS on that Samsung TV he has is running android..

the newer samsung tv's run Tizen but there is method you can use to run android apps... you need to install ACL from Tizen playstore but there is limited support so not all apps will run as intended
 
Hi everyone.
Sorry if this is a dumb question. I have the DSTV now app on my iPad. Bought a digital AV adaptor and HDMI cable to link it to our Smart TV.
I’m able to see the iPad screen on the TV, but when I hit play to watch anything it says that playback via screen mirroring is not enabled and I must enable Airplay. But there is no Airplay icon on my iPad. I updated the iOS and tried again, still no luck.
Any suggestions
 
So I’ve bought the Apple TV 4K and still no local DStv App? Crazy to think my 100MB fibre line can’t be used to its full potential.

Does anyone know when DStv will be releasing an Apple TV app for us?
