DSTv porn possibility backlash

You guys can heed to this advice or not from a recovered porn addict: It WILL destroy your life in the end if you don't find your way out.

I was one of the 'lucky' ones who got out after being addicted to it for many years. I am now entering midlife, and am all alone never having been in a normal relationship with a woman. Not sure if I ever will, because I still feel dirty from being addicted to that utter and complete crap for so long.

The less people that falls into this trap, the better for us all. We live in a very sick world and do not need to contribute to its downfall.

Good luck to you guys still kidding yourselves that this is part of being a 'man' and that there is nothing wrong with it.

I sincerely hope that you will too see it for what it is before it is too late for you.

Addicted to porn, i think there may be something wrong with you dude. I am addicted to that 5 second goodness when you climax. Porn just helps it happen by stimulating it :D.

Geez ****ing without porn? WTf kinda sick world would that be.

Maybe that was your problem. Learn to socialise with and date women before blaming your shortfalls on porn.

sure mr 1 post wonder. god i wish i could compare ip tables of existing members against clones / newbs ;)

Yes there will be an increase in child molestation; it will probably be so insignificant that most people (with respect to those unfortunate children who have had this problem) would overlook it (I am talking about an increase of like 0.21 %) and this would be accredited to pornographic material on DSTV, furthermore, what about movies with pornographic references they should be banned too then hey?

If you don’t like it, don’t watch it, cancel you DSTV subscription even. If you don’t like porn at all then all you have to do is to send you TV to me, because no matter what movie, program, advert you watch there will likely be a pornographic reference.

BTW I haven’t read all the posts.

Ja, I have a sex addict here that says sex ruined her life. I guess thats it for the human race.

Ha ha. Seriously dude, there is something wrong with you that has nothing to do with porn that makes woman not want to have anything to do with you.

lol, have any of you filled in the survey? Someone emailed it to me asking to take part with an article attached mentioning how bad an idea it was......i filled in the survey...... not sure it was the way they expected though (:

In fact i got quite upset at the idea of them charging R100 a month for some porn!!! That seems a bit extravagant doesn't it? I mean if you are paying R25 a gig, thats 4 gigs of porn in your choice of fetish... mind you 24 hours * 30 days (will they include Sundays do you think?) versus what 2 hours per gig, it might not be a bad deal.........hold on are they broadcasting in HD and if not, how many hours of HD porn compare to how many hours of "poor" porn. This is actually quite a tough question not to even mention DVD rentals.

As for the soft core option, i mean really? I thought that was what FTV was for?

Why did they bring out this survey? Did Sexpo have a survey too?

I'll get back to you on my analysis and who knows i may actually decide to get DSTV (:

You think harcore porn includes scenes of bestiality, pedophilia and rape? Or do you think watching say a three way including anals, facials and rimjobs (nothing unrealistic about that if you meet a nice adventurous girl btw) is going to lead people to want to screw fido?

I didn't say that. I said hardcore porn is a path which very clearly opens the door to more and more extreme porn - which isn't good. Fairly often it leads to viewing bestiality, pedophilia, and rape, and in some cases the watcher will want to act our their extreme fantasies.

It's not free to air porn genius. Those uneducated, "tribal" minds who can afford the DSTV porn subscription can afford the internet too presumably.

It'll set a precedent, which would likely spread to the other channels. Multichoice won't always be the only provider.

It isn't a case of semantics. It is a case of rights. Please answer me this: What gives you the right to deny another human being access to something?

Instead of adding pron channels multichoice should try improving what they offer on their existing channels. You do realize they are "denying" you quality content.

It's perfectly correct to draw lines in the sand. You aren't allowed to harm another human being for pleasure, and neither is it correct to place harmful sexual imagery on tv where it will clearly be accessed by children.

I say leave it online.

It will be on a password protected bouquet. Do you honestly think that kids can't access porn on the internet?

"All those who watch pornography are not necessarily molesters, but according to experts all child molesters watch pornography.".

ok so not all car drivers are speedster but all speedster drive cars WTF?

o ja and just throw out our pc and take away the cellphone....they watch far more for on those babies than you and i think added together plus 500.
when i was young there weren't any internet, watched porn in green and orage fciab. but you still made a plan...

Um we've already discussed this. If their is so much pron on the net, why do you want them to offer it? The answer is convenience and ease of access. If its so much easier for you, itll be easier for the kiddies too.

In saying that, if the password system is acceptable solid it does improve the situation as it relates specifically to kids. But lets face it, this is multichoice we are talking about. You will probably type 9949 to hack into access it. Most kids are more tech savvy than their kids anyway, i would expect a hack to get passed around the classrooms within a few weeks.

From multichoice's perspective though, most people in this country are conservative about things like pron. So a move like that would really hurt the publics view of them as a company.

Because most people don't have 100s of gigs lying around to download porn movies. And if kids have free reign to the TV (not specifically porn on TV, but there is a large amount of violence too) then that is a parenting fail, not the fault of the broadcaster. Raise your kids in the proper manner instead of passing on the blame for your shortcomings as a parent. What's stopping parents from removing the smart card when they're not in the presence of their kids watching TV? No, cos that's too easy.

So a drug dealer shouldn't hold some of the blame? Multichoice in this case will be providing a service which causes significant harm.

...but this is going in circles, the truth is they will never offer it, most people wouldn't take very kindly to the idea and it would harm multichoice's reputation (not that they have a very good one as it is). This forum mostly represents a small niche of horny 20/30 somethings who surf porn on a regular basis, so naturally they would be all for the idea.

It's only going in circles because of the reasoning that you and your fellow brethren present - i.e. bring in everything that's not relevant to the argument (such as drug dealers :wtf:), while conveniently ignoring the questions and points presented to you :) Still haven't answered answered my question - what's stopping all these deeply concerned folks from removing the smart card when they're not in the presence of their kids?

If you want to purchase a service then you need to accept responsibility for it and take the proper measures to protect your kids from it. Stop blaming everyone else for failing as a parent.

Suppositions at best. Do you have even anecdotal evidence that this happens?

It'll set a precedent, which would likely spread to the other channels. Multichoice won't always be the only provider.

Don't be ridiculous.

You live in a fantasy world and its not even a good one.
