dstv price increase on 1 april 2012

I forgot to pay mine end of November, end of December I wasn't at home so didn't bother. When I got back they've suspended my feed. As I was broke, I thought fsck it, I'll just download schit for the month and pay at the end of Jan.

During the course of Jan, I thought, hang on a bit! I download cartoons for my kids, series for me and the wife and movies for over weekends. So I thought fsck DSTV!!!

Really? Have you gone to the shops, not defending Multichoice but they've increased the premium by R30 which is 6%. Though they should drop it, but this will only happen when proper competition comes in.

The increase is to compensate for the loss in subscribers:p

People should rent out their lounges. R100 a month you can go watch sport on DSTV in the comfort of somebody else's lounge. :D

There are usually multiple different streams from various sources for each game. Though I think you have to subscribe to Bet365 for their streams.
 
6% increase isn't all that bad but if you start to add up all the 'stuff' that is increasing it becomes a little hefty. Guess they've done their research though - R600 must still be affordable for all us numbskulls willing to fork out the dosh :D.

a 6% increase over 6 million subscribers = R1.44 Billion Rand a year extra for DSTV!!!!

Do you think that will cover their "cost of living" increase or cover inflation? :D
 
I just received the same email and all I can say is WTF :wtf: come one and I plan to get a HDPVR end of the month so what can I look at paying ? R650+ ? Geez man

No, they think it's a joke, and want us to think that it is a joke so that when we get slapped with the bill, we laugh as we give away R50 extra every month.
