DSTV price increase

neh, getting from Teljoy on Friday ..... and once you have it, you're not subjected to price increases :D

What is technically stopping them from offering me the option to choose, say 16 channels, that I actually do use? Then I pay for getting those channels only...
 
You would think with the global economic turmoil, companies would be more sensitive to inflicting price increases on consumers. Well, then again this is South Africa, land of the great rip-off!!!

Like WTF, Where is the competition??????? Oh that's right we have a Guavament that stuffed that up too. Gosh, I love living in SA..... NOT!
 
so with corporate sa u either hav monopolies, or cartels involved in price fixing. either way, the consumer is screwed. schweet. multichoice remains a monopoly, btw...

technically, nothing really. but their plan is to increase revenue, not decrease it. so forget it...
 
lol, and just when there is all this talk about upgrading this country for 2010, these idiots decide to put their prices up. i hope they fail
 
All they waited for is the super 14 and the rest of sports to come back on.. gave us taste and now putting up the price.... thinking we will not drop the subscript ion..

Well guess what.... I will cancel mine and I hope that rest of customers follow suite...

It's just not worth it, IMHO.

After they screwed us over with Lost I think it would probably be easier for me to just rent what I want to see. I really, really am not interested in the soccer channel or about 80% of the other crap they show.

And what's with the friggin' advertising blitz on most of the series we see? Seriously, I think the ad breaks in Grey's are longer than the show is. As subscribers aren't we supposed to be immune from ads?

Paying R500 + a month for something that you have no say on what you see is kinda stupid methinks. I have more choice on desktop wallpaper on my pc than what gets shown on DSTV.

Personally I think the best way to watch anything is to just bloody download it from your favourite torrent sites. No waits, No ad breaks. If I want to get up and run quickly to the kitchen I can pause (ala PVR) by just pressing spacebar on my keyboard.

If you pay R500 to dstv every month im sorry to say but you deserve to be ripped off.

Only thing I can really see that makes it a little bit worthwhile is discovery, Nat Geo and if your so inclined some sports... but then you get forcefed for every hour or programming about 20 minutes of advertisements......that would drive me stark ****ing bonkers.

Hell, If I turn on the telly once and a while and see an ad the tube just gets turned off immediately again. There's enough advertising in the world, I don't need to bring it into my home.
