I am a fan of DSTV, and always have to smile at all the complaints. Yes, off course DSTV ask to much, but they can, because they have no competition, and have a monopoly. That you can't blame them for, blame the lame government.
But, even so, I pay it gladly, and actually, I would pay more, gladly.
Lets break it down, about R700 for Premium + Dual view + PVR. That equates to about R23.33 per day, over 30 days.
I have to laugh that many people will think nothing of buying a R200,000 car, a 1 to 2 million rand house. Think nothing of blowing R500 for a dinner in 'n a restaurant. Don't break a sweat for pay R700 for perfume, or R1,500 to get hair done or colored.
No problem to spend R5,000 going shopping. No problem going to the movies, forking out R200 for one movie + pop corn for 2 people.
Yet, same people will moan at DSTV cost, R23.33 a month. Really. The solution is simple, don't buy a R200,000 car, take a R160,000 one instead, and you have paid for DSTV. Doing just that you have paid for your DSTV for the next five years.
It just astounds me how people can cry to high heaven at R700 a month, yet have no problem blowing R25,000 on bond, car and credit car debt.
And the streaming fanatics, yeah yeah, I know, there is a world there where you can get enough whatever, only problem is, you're gona pay more than R700 a month, easy. Sure, you can get more, but, there is only 24 hours a day, what you gona do, use all 24 hours to watch tv.
No matter what who says, I am an Mnet and DSTV fan since they started in 1986, and the sheer thought that they might never have existed and we only had SABC and Etv today, scares me to death.
DSTV for what they give, the R700 is fair. Do you think getting all that sport comes for free. Sure, they ask about double or maybe triple than they should, but think about it, they can easily ask much more than they do now. They can double their subscription, even if 50% of all people leave, they still break even money wise.
You people don't think outside the box, I know what it is, you want it for free, right
