I was asked by my mom today, okay, she didn't ask, she hinted.

That maybe I could get DSTV for the flat (or her!)

I am curious about 1 thing though (for myself);

What package does DSTV offer that includes the sports channels, the ones where I can watch all SA rugby games, all SA cricket games... and, I think, that's about it.

All I wanna do with DSTV (if I was to get it, even if for my mom) is that I get all the necessary sport channels.

I see DSTV.co.za have the compact option, but it's missing supersport '1' or whatever.

Sorry to break the news to you gdiza, but only DSTV Premium has the sports channels worth watching. That's why we don't even bother with DSTV.

Funny enough people have also been screaming for non-sports packages too - just goes to show you what a poor service monochoice offer their subscribers.

Stop complaining people. I mean where else do you have the privilege of watching so many repeats you will actually sing along

You only need MNet for the rugby internationals and most South African cricket matches have been on SABC....

I know, Multichoice sucks in SA.

They do? How so?

They have so much sport it is frightening if you ask me and my 500 bucks a month is very well spent on dstv. I would rather have a month of sporting goodness than a night or weekend of going out

For sport i think dstv is one of the best networks in the world. They cover just about everything.

i dont think anyone is crying about the sport coverage but the fact that the subs are inflated to cover the cost of cartoon network and various others irritates me, i dont want to pay for *** i dont watch

Well i do not believe that even 500 bucks a month for all the sport is over inflated at all.

I gladly part with 500 bucks for all that sport and the other channels are not that bad, i can find stuff to watch but i do not sit in front of the tv for 8 hours a day so i always find something.

For me though 500 bucks a month for rugga, cricket, tennis, tons of soccer is great.

Show me what you can do for 500 bucks a month that will allow 8-12 hours minimum of entertainment a week? I talking from the sports side.

Funny how people who smoke, drink, buy expensive cars, computers etc are happy about that but 500 bucks for a dstv is too much :D. Anyways i guess i may be the only one who see value in being able to watch just about any sport i want for 500 bucks a month.

Well you can go to your cash crusaders and pick up an mnet decoder for R25, then subscribe to the mnet analgoue thingie for R270 a month, and then you get all the decent sport. It's the CSN channel - if you go to the supersport website, click on tv guide and look for the csn schedule.
