I am becoming more and more disenchanted with DSTV of late. Including the Sports channels which is a first for me. The documentary channels no longer have a single new show on that is (IMO) of any interest. The movies are mostly crud, and repeated far too often. The lifestyle channels are repeating everything and sundry now too. There is just absolutely NO NEW CONTENT ON DSTV ANYMORE, and if there is, it is barely worth watching.
Documentaries:
BBCK - no new Top Gears at all - they're now all repeats.
DISC - No new Mythbusters at all - again, all repeats. Time Warp is vaguely interesting for a few minutes but one can only keep a crowd entertained with a slo-mo for so long before it becomes boring. No new Universe shows. And even though I don't really watch them, the motor and chopper shows appear to all be repeats. Brainiacs are all repeats. And in fact this channel is showing repeats of shows that have been repeating consistently for over a year now.
HIST - repeating all old episodes now. Haven't seen anything new in ages there.
NATGEO - all repeats apart from the odd wildlife show. The one I watched quite often was Earth Investigated but those are now all repeats of the intial repeats that I began watching.
Sports:
Channel 200 -shocking and I started a thread about them already.
SS1 - repeats channel
SS2 - Right now it's mountain biking for an hour and then triathlon. WOW! Riveting stuff!
SS3 - mostly local football crap now. Couldn't care less.
SS4 - Should be renamed to PSLTV - it's the suped up version of SS3, without the international football.
SS5 - only ever worth it at 3am when international cricket overlaps something else - like an important replay of Ajax vs Swallows
SS6 - not sure I've ever watched any of the rubbish on that channel
SS7 - La Liga TV is all that it's become.
Movies:
DSTV appear to have limited the extent of their movies to "B" and "C" Grade schit these days. And they haven't got a clue how to "sell it" in the info/description. Such as this corker - "A man has to make a large decision in his life when things change for the worse" WOW, fscking epic - sign me up for that schit please!
Lifestyle:
Apart from the channel full of gay dudes suggesting you move your wall unit 3 degrees to the right to perfect the zen balance in your house, there is again, forkall new on these channels. I've seen practically everything on the Food/Lifestyle channel, in fact I've seen most of it twice already, and that was over the course of the last year. Give me something new ffs!
DSTV are now heading towards the top of my schit-list and will be first to go if I decide to cut back on expenses. I will be actively looking for alternatives if they do not pull their fingers out of their asses.
