people actually WANT to watch SABC???? :wtf:

And they pay DSTV to watch it?

Do they not know it is broadcast terrestrially?

There are many people watching SABC content, not everyone have aerials any more. They don’t pay DSTV to watch SABC it is only that there is no other way to receive the signal.

Sorry, I don't buy it.

Surprised it was even noticed...

Huh! Fuming for SABC? Seriously? The Sadly Arbitrary Broadcasting Corporation? That one? There's far better ways to spend your hard earned ZARs than paying DSTV subs and watching the SABC. Eish... and far better stories out there than this one to have made the frontpage of mybroadband

Yes we like the Afrikaans content

Terrestrial is not an option. With the wind in the Western Cape an aerial is not the solution - the South Easter simply snapped mine.

Last time I looked at the AMPS figures for DStv, SABC2 was one of the most popular channels :wtf:

Err wtf. We just spent 4k installing a dish, decoders, remote blaster, splitter, wiring etc to basically get our nanny sabc and stuff and pay the R29 for easyview plus the full amount (R75?) for extra view.

Besides maybe news I can't possibly think of anything worthwhile to watch on SABC. And if you have that [DSTV], you have better options...

Would have worked out much cheaper to get the nanny a toptv box. I am assuming they are still around?
