DStv fixes live TV streaming "black screen" problem

DStv subscribers have been experiencing issues streaming live TV on its app with the media streaming devices, according to multiple posts on Twitter and reports on Downdetector.

Customers attempting to stream live TV would be presented with only a black screen. According to DStv, the issue has now been resolved.

That black screen problem has been around for a while now on Hisense Android TVs. Updated DSTV application rubbish. Uninstall app and download the Older version. Works like a charm. Also switch off auto updates otherwise you back to square one...

Have had the same problem on Android streaming boxes. What I found seems to work is to force stop the DSTV app, then clear the cache. Seems to work almost every time, till the next time.

You right. Did all that and it helped but eventually I went back to Older version. Less irritating... and by the way I upgraded by mistake updating other apps and the same problem is still there. So back to the old one again. Useless Multimillion Dollar company..

Easy way to fix it.

Pull the decoder cables out, and chuck it in the bin, and turn on Netflix instead.

Problem solved.

Exactly the same for me. Eventually shows programs, click one, black screen.

DSTV incompetence - releasing, no forcing alpha grade app updates on their customers. Eish!!
