DSTV SD PVR blackmail

I have no problem with replacing the unit but the lack of extra tuners, as that was the main reason for going the SD PVR route back then.

Sorry, not following, as I mentioned the satellite tuners above, but I think you are talking about RF... Are you saying you still want dual view? If yes...

No other market in the world has a dual view decoder. It was pretty unique to SA. It was a great idea, when SD and RF was still acceptable. XtraView has many advantages and when they start running MoCA, it will really be awesome. I believe a 3rd viewing environment is still on the cards.

Probably not... You sure you are looking at viewing zone 1.

Rest of remote functions all relayed to SD PVR via link. Just not "Menu".

Also, channel number indicated on SD PVR LED display, not changing when channel is changed. Stays on 200 (SS Blitz).

No use in trying to blame my lack of intellect on service provider...damn! Glad my SD PVR and remote still fully functional...user on the other hand...

Change the channel on your TV and select the correct zone with the dial on your remote. This is not the right thread for this BTW...

Think its time to sell this PVR to some unsuspecting bloke.

@Quantum... I have the SD PVR & HD PVR with extra view. I would have to run Two Cat 5e cables with HDMI/Cat converters, one for each decoder. Then split to each room .... sigh...

Only if you want HD, AFAIK all of dstv's decoders have the usual RF out

QT, for how long will the 4 tuner PACE receiver still operate properly? Have xtraview and it works 100% with 4-tuner as primary and 2-tuner as secondary

Is there any need to change to an Explora? I am not bothered about the cost, just don't want to wake up to an unrecoverable error message one day

If you are happy with the decoder, stick with it. If you are running a 2 x 6 switch currently, you will have to run more cables from the dish, at some stage...

Hi
So my old dual view 1 decoder packed up yesterday. Have insurance and went to have it checked. Told me that they can't swap it for the same as they don't service it any more.
Good news is they gave me two new single view hd decoders as replacement at no cost and did all the setup for me. Plug and play when I got home.
Hectic cue's as this took 3 hours.
