DStv shows strong growth

Well done, Multichoice!

Now I must figure out what extra things I will be able to do with an Explora and an internet connection.

Decent growth, but the declining margins are worrying

It would be interesting to see what the breakdown of the packages are.
These numbers don't mean much if the growth is in their entry level products (Which I suspect is the case)

Agreed, I suspect that accounts for the high subs growth but declining margin.

That Premium package just does not provide value, and nothing else has SS1 and SS2.

So will have to continue with Netflix and Huluplus, and streaming for Sport.

But I would pay R100 per channel for SS1 and SS2.

I'm still immensely proud of Multichoice and what they have achieved as a company.

They don't have to stand back for Sky HD, or any other pay channel company.

South Africa is world class, even if our government doesn't do much to market our country.

Yep, Multichoice is fantastic. As you mentioned, not even Sky puts them to shame

But, but, I thought us evol pirates were driving them to the brink of bankruptcy?

And if this is not the case, with profits like this, surely dstv should have no fear of Netflix in SA?

Can Netflix do Live Sport broadcasts? :D

Enough said. ;)

Still haven't answered the question, why does DSTV even care about Netflix ? Because they seem to.

It's a long-term fear. Netflix (or any streaming service) is no threat to DSTV for 5+ years, but DSTV are starting now to nibble away at Netflix, so it becomes less of a problem in the future.
