Dstv stream problem

Looks like an issue with app version 2.3.7. My skyworth auto updated to 2.3.7 and I'm getting the same error as the OP on my skyworth. My samsung TVs in the bedroom and braai room where I have now disabled auto update is on version 2.3.6 with no issues.

Until this last Wednesday I did not have any problems streaming DStv Stream to all my devices. I have 4 of them and are aware that I can only stream to one at a time.
One of the devices (A Lenovo tablet with Android 10) suddenly start to display the following message.

"We're sorry
Licence denied. Failed to find a policy for the requested security level SW_SECURE_DECODE"

I've spent hours chatting with Dstv, rebooting devices, clearing caches, uninstalling and reinstalling the App as well as making more space on the tablet but to no avail.
They first said that the tablet is not compatible (although it worked for 2 years until a few days ago) and then that add-ons might interfere with the Dstv app. (No add-ons on the tablet)

Does anyone know what the problem can be and how to fix it?

I started getting this message from yesterday on my Android TV. It is so frustrating
Does anyone know how to rollback the DSTV version on Skyworth TV

Only way would be a usb stick with previous version downloaded from apkmirror AFAIK. Not the safest either

Thanks. I came right. I uninstalled DSTV. Changed the settings on google play store to not auto update apps. I had a app installed called app downloader from the GoogleStore when I installed my family cinema. . In the app i searched for "DSTV stream APK" and then clicked on a site that gave a option for previous version. I installed the previous version and DSTV is working now

Having same issue. Worked fine until last week thursday morning. Dstv must get their act together. The Apps getting more useless. Seriousy thinking of cancel dstv. Not worth what y pay and what y get. Dont even have this issue with my fibre connectuon. Dstv should make another plan. Since getting greedy with limit of devices all the problem started

Same thing has just happened to me. I've been streaming for years and now......nothing

If you believe that then you will believe anything. The cable breaks are not the cause of dstv issues. Dstv is the cause of dstv issues
I do believe this , apart from the shitty service and its random downtime , the cable breakage did affect the service because if you were well educated on the matter you would know DSTV's iptv lines are not locally hosted but are located and run by a telcoms / server hosting company in europe as it is the line was unreliable but now with the further damage to the undersea cables on the west coast specifically ACE since last week , DSTV streams were slugglish and slow but now with the cable breakage they had no choice but to stop the app in its entirety as the service would be unstable and almost impossible to use , thanks for your remark , shows how much you actually know , the sad thing here is that people still pay for an overpriced service

As I said. This is dstv putting nonsense out that people will believe and go ooooo ok that must be it.

Their streaming service has always been terrible. And if you do a bit more reading, as i hope you can read, you will see people who downgraded to previous versions of the streaming apps had their issues resolved.

But hey, you do you. And welcome to the forum

listen mate i get what you are going at im not on multi-choices's side and you , me and everyone knows their company have been doing shady practices for years including there apps like dstv stream and showmax .

There app has always been unreliable and sluggish and its even worse now but they didnt just make an excuse up on the spot I have worked closely with the telcoms compay they use , they dont have the budget to afford servers of theire own as the head is pocketing it all so they branched out and partnered with a french telcoms company to host the lines for them , and as you can imagine the 180-250ms latency while streaming is quite unreliable but the line that runs to us ACE was affected in the breakage which has crippled network performance for almost all of SA, slower speeds , higher latency , major packetloss , and DSTV cant transfer the line either as there isnt another one , which why they stopped their app to prevent major backlash , hopefully they arent still charging people until the issue has been sorted

Yeah, awesome - DSTV being the only ones not rerouting their traffic, for their service via other cables like all the other streaming services?

DSTV's app is shite, but that is not anything new.
