Dstv stream problem

Until this last Wednesday I did not have any problems streaming DStv Stream to all my devices. I have 4 of them and are aware that I can only stream to one at a time.
One of the devices (A Lenovo tablet with Android 10) suddenly start to display the following message.

"We're sorry
Licence denied. Failed to find a policy for the requested security level SW_SECURE_DECODE"

I've spent hours chatting with Dstv, rebooting devices, clearing caches, uninstalling and reinstalling the App as well as making more space on the tablet but to no avail.
They first said that the tablet is not compatible (although it worked for 2 years until a few days ago) and then that add-ons might interfere with the Dstv app. (No add-ons on the tablet)

Does anyone know what the problem can be and how to fix it?

Same here. I'm also Using Lenovo Tab with Android 10. Did you manage to get it resolved?

No problems watching the F1 last night but the rugby and cricket streams were giving problems. could it be traffic on those channels or should traffic not be a thing on dstv streams?

No issues here with cricket last night. But DSTV shouldn't be giving you issues regardless of sport .

I streamed rugby, cricket, tennis and cycling over the weekend with no issues. F1 was on F1TV.

I also tried the DSTV stream (twice) for the football and I gave up on it. the buffering and the fact you could hardly see which team was which made it impossible to watch.

If DSTV fixed their network I would probably consider using their stream service again.

Watched the Indian/Pakistan game yesterday on DSTV streaming App on a Nvidia Tube and it was rather slow and backing out off the stream screen would go black, on a good 5G connection. Stream quality was decent, but nowhere near the best I have experienced.

ISP is RSA Web. Sorry, not technically enclined, no idea what DNS is

Right so DSTV uses a content delivery network called Akamai. Akamai has a big network in SA they peer in all locations and with all ISPs and also have network caches but the Partner for those are Optinet/Mweb.

DNS are servers that resolve domains from google.com to an IP address. Akamai uses this to steer traffic to local network caches/servers. ISPs can host their own if Akamai approves not sure if RSAWeb does. If you don't use DNS provided by your ISP the stream come from servers that might not be close to you and that might be the issue.

if your able to or if you have someone who can do it try setting the dns provider on your device to a service like cloudflare eg: 1.1.1.1 & 1.0.0.1 , possibly the fastest dns you can get , I would also try a vpn that might help you aswell, some isp providers also have a FUP and like to shape and throttle I would avoid these isp's if you can , RSA state they dont do this in their policy but some report they do anyways

When you say device, do you mean my router or the mi box?
