Hi, can anyone help me with this:

I had my DSTV installed last week, the standard decoder. I now installed a new TV upstairs, and need to get the dstv working there as well. I'm not worried about dual view, just getting the cable there is the first step...

Do one get a splitter that will split the signal so that I can just buy another cable and plug that into the splitter, and then into my 2nd TV... Would that weekend the signal, and would I notice it?

Or should I get a dual LNB installed and take the new cable form the lnb to the 2nd tv?

I just bought an Ellies wireless A/V transmitter for R400 (at Game)... works perfectly, no inteference.

the 1st option doesn't weaken the signal at all ..... thats the setup I have atm.

W00t, for R400? I bought an Ellies wireless transmitter thing at builders warehouse for R800 this weekend, but the signal is ***, and if you listen carefully, you can hear the white noise in the background, very disappointing...

Yeh - I think it might have been a mistake - cause I also recalled seeing them at around R800 before.

Have you tried changing the transmitting channels on it? I found that helped, I had a terrible line which constantly scrolled across the screen, but changing the channel fixed that.

yes I tried to change it... but still not a perfect picture, the picture is OKAY tough...

Have you heard of a TVLINK Eye? It allows you to change channels at the 2nd tv by using the control ? reading about it on www.dstv.com forum.

You mean using the DSTV remote on the 2nd TV to change the channels on the DSTV decoder thats at the 1st TV?

Ellies also has one of those - Remote Blaster.

cool

I need to call ellies to get a quote

Also available at Game... I actually think its also just less than R400 - which just made me realise I probably paid the remote blaster price for the AV Sender :p

Where can one buy ellies products? They quoted me on the Amplifier R173.19 which is fine, and R474 on the remote blaster... now I just need to find out where to buy it?

Game? Think the remote blaster was cheaper at Game.

Makro

Most of the big store that sell tv's etc stock ellies products as well as most of the big hardware shops

Fanix, why do you not try the remote blaster battery from Beyond platinum. Its main advantage is that you do not need a sending blaster unit, only one receiving one. I have been using their product for months now and I am extremely pleased with it. I can even lower or increase my volume from the garden.

It costs about the same as a remote blaster system.

The trick to those wireless av transmitters is height i tested some a few months ago the higher you put Them less interference from people walking around.
