But then they will lose Premium users as they will move to Compact
They can just keep the HD channels with Premium.
Compact 1 - Soccer
Compact 2 - Rugby/Cricket
Premium - Both + HD Channels + PVR + Duel View ect.
A lot of people will definitely downscale, even more will sign up for Compact 2, and they will keep those that want HD on Premium.
While I don't like this suggestion much, its something they could do while you require premium for HD anyways. Personally though I would like to see HD become a standard not something you pay extra for.

very well said, and i can honestly say, that I myself had DStv Premium + HD channels, and ill be honest with you, Dstv didnt cater much for my needs as my as Toptv does, and I must say, That Fox Channels Im hooked, Kerrang, Smash Hitz are the best Music Channels, not forgetting BET with their Shows, they Rock.. Overall I wasnt a series fan on Dstv, but with TTV im Surely developing a taste for series especially Family Guy is the best
same here. I had DSTV premium for a few years and with the Olympics I got the HD decoded and cancelled it in January of this year. Most of the time my DSTV were on one of the music channels as except for during the confed cup last year.
I enjoy the TTV music channels and also watching some of the older series I never had the chance to watch. IMO, the music channels already makes it worthwhile.

You may want to rethink your strategy as currently DSTV own first and second-air rights to pretty much every show they've 'bought'.
So don't expect to see anything recent on TopTV.

Not to mention the fact those new shows are not cheap... see how SET doesn't show too many current series by Sony? If they are to start acquiring current content then expect current prices too. People need to learn to read around here.
On another note, if it weren't for my living in a rigid complex I'd get topTV on top of the DSTV I have

Dstv is good in everything but they lacked competiotion before TopTV came, coz afta that thats when they introduced these funny boquets. If they had not introdused compact honestly no one will be watching DSTV by now. To me topTV is the best, Good movies , latest music, crime, history, discovery and news. People lets wake up if only and i repeat if only topTV had a channel like Supersport 3 then they would have finished and taken all clients from DSTv. I would advice them to introduce sport thats their major drawback, but for those who dont like sport why subscribe DSTV....??????? no point at all. I wish all the best to topTV so they become big and also offer HD channels, we will completely forget the DSTV era, they take our R600, and in return give us sh...t, that oney is never justified, have u seen the latest dstv standard decoder so small is it worth R599 or please cant u c u being f......d, honesty to hell with dstv...........and hope for good brighter future with toptv.............

The only reason I have Full DSTV is for sport.I have top tv also it worth the price but cannot be compared to dstv

DSTV still worth it. Had TOPTV for a few months when they released but changed back when they repeated old content.Pathetic !
For now,Compact is worth the money.TOPTV seriously need to update their conent !Its old and there are more repeats than compared to DSTV.

I agree with you completely. R529/mth just for sport and such an ugly decoder. It is proly the ugliest decoder on the planet. Why is it so ugly? Because they made it so cheap so they can sell it very expensive relative to its manufacturing cost.
DStv are screwing us.
Thats why I've got TopTV.

Wouldn't this be the answer for anyone with compact, as long as they can 'convert' the wifi to a TV signal? Wouldn't be too much of an issue for me, as I use my PC for most of my watching...
