Hi guys.

Got a new router (asus ac 5300) and now my dstv wifi is refusing to connect to the internet.

Checker finds the router but can't connect to the internet.

All other pc's,smart tv's,phones,tablets,ps4,ect work.

Running a cable is not an option.

Anybody know what I am doing wrong? Was working with the previous router. This setup has the previous router acting in bridge mode to provide internet while the ac5300 does all the routing.

The DSTV wifi has a DHCP server on it. Connect to it via your PC and set it to static IP on same range as your home network.

The DSTV wifi also creates a bridge with the ether port. So it causes havoc.

Try it out and see if works.

It is now refusing to connect to the wifi connector page. Just says page not found on any of the laps or pc I plug it in. Doing this with both dstv wifi connectors for the 2 explores we have.

Connected previously when I ran the setup...

Ok after restarting the router I managed to set a static ip. But still having issues basicly after doing it it will keep the connection for a few minutes then fail and not be picked up by the router at all in its list of devices. The dstv check still says it picks up a router but no internet connection.

This is really doing my head in, all other devices work flawlessly...

Solved it. Apparently some conflict with the dsl modem. Explora wifi too dumb to bypass it while other devices could...

also having issues, seems intermittent or not at all. will try this suggestion

The suggestions given are for the older wi-fi device, the newer one is really just plug and play.

ok thanks, yes both devices are about a year old and the router is significant and not an entry model.

has anyone else battled with thier dstv wifi device? I have fibre and strong Wi-Fi connection and it really doesn't perfrom and disconnects alot. I'm thinking perhaps a faulty unit?

Hi how did you solve this...
I'm having the same issue and tried everything I could think of... I reset the explora and Dstv WiFi connector, reboot my new router, tried to connect manually via different laptops... Still not working. Manually it doesn't want to accept my WiFi password... And via explora WPS... It detects router but doesn't connect to Internet.

Any advice other than the standard useless instructions from Dstv could help.
