DStv's biggest threat

Streaming live sport with these, lets call them "loophole" providers on IPTV seems to be a hit or miss, I just do not not want to deal with buffering, constant reconnections etc. I have a 100/100 fibre uncapped and still have not been able to find a decent sport streaming solution, especially for English Premier League Football.

If anyone knows or could suggest a decent streaming sports provider, I would love to test.

How does the cost compare to the competition? As an example, how many content providers streamed IPL and at what cost?
I have looked around and I find that if I want a direct stream (not IPTV) then it will cost me in the region of what I am paying for DSTV (This is basically getting EPL, European League, FA cup, Europa league basically all the football). Overseas they tend to give different contracts for different competition to different providers. I still have DSTV premium specifically for the sport and then I have Netflix USA, Hulu, CBS, Plex and Disney + for my series and movies. CBS has now started showing the European league now on their network so now I could watch it on there if I wanted to but since I have DSTV I still just revert to that.

For IPL you can always try Disney+ Hotstar which shows the IPL game. Hotstar is an Indian streaming platform and so if you want English then you will need to get the premium package which I think costs about R65.00 a month (paying per month). never used them so not sure what the stream or connection is like

Companies like Vumatel and Rain are starting to offer affordable uncapped products on poorer neighbourhoods which are enjoying strong uptake.

I knew it! RAIN subscribers are cheapskates. The few who use it as they cannot get fibre are victims of the neighbourhood cheapskates trying to get data on the cheap.

DStv are their own biggest threat with their pricing. And repeats. Reduce the premium price and repeats and many might return.

We subscribe to Premium purely for the SuperSport channels. Unfortunately we all know that SuperSport will never be a stand alone product. I remember how excited I was as a wee lad when my gran got DStv in '97, the Discovery Channel was mind blowing. This is what it's devolved into over the last few years

I am considering moving to the streaming side fully now. What service providers have “uncapped data” options, can you direct me to them? Thanks

Dstv deserve it. They never think how we feel when they repeat 1 movie for the whole year. I wish all subscribers will not pay for 2 months and make them feel how we feel when we watch 1 show for the whole year. Wake up and make your customers happy

DSTV's original sin is not actually making content. It started out with big ideas by Koos Bekker for content but quickly succumbed to the deduction of reselling. Easy and fat profit in a country serviced only by the SABC and second rate movie channels.
Now the chickens have come home. They are a regional reseller with a bad name in a global world.

The problem I find with IPTV's is the quality of the stream. I have tried a couple and they have all sucked. I now just stream directly from the content providers themselves.
Paid IPTV apps and a decent fibre connection will bring happy moments. Free apps and poor internet connection will frustrate you.

I am sure my 1Gbps line speed would be declared as a "decent fibre connection" and paying for an IPTV app does not deem it as trustworthy. Most IPTV streams are illegal with them scraping content and then rebroadcasting it, also what happens if you pay for subs and then they get caught and get closed down.

I do not use "free apps" and definitely do not have a bad internet connection. I stream content directly from sources that are reliable and trustworthy

We live in the digital ages. There are many and better alternatives "out there". You Just need to press the right buttons and frustrations with Premium will be a thing of the past.
