I think many people will sign up for a dstv price lock contract if they charged R650 - 700..

Tbh though dstv has crap even on their premium packages. Their premium package is bloated with mediocre cringey local crap like "Being Bonang", the Bachelor SA & the Housewives of Johannesburg.

Local reality tv cant compare with international counterparts. The standards in SA are so low, they make anyone a "celeb" & it is so cringe.

I even watched a few minutes of My Kitchen Rules SA, the accents & the cringe is too much..

The local crap shows eventually make it to Showmax, so the only incentive of premium seems to be sport.

Dstv if you read this thread. You ****ed up the trace music channel. It use to be an awesome channel with the newest music & dance charts from popular artists. Now it is just bloated with local egotistical Kanye West wannabes.

Stop forcing untalented trash down my throat like AKA, Bonang, Casper Nyofest etc.

The only local artist I can tolerate is Sho Majozi & Black Coffee.

Every passing month that Multichoice doesn't lift a finger with a standalone streaming option increases its existential risk.

Once Disney+ drops, the kind of people who spend a grand a month on satellite TV will likely prefer Netflix & Amazon Video & Disney+ & maybe Apple+. DStv will be far out of sight and out of mind.

And anyone who needs sport will ask their friends or Google and quickly find IPTV streaming and Getflix.
