DStv's big streaming limit fail

The continued decline of DStv Premium customers over the past two years suggests the broadcaster's decision to slash its simultaneous streaming limit to one device did not help boost subscriptions.

In fact, there are indications that the move potentially accelerated annual Premium subscriber drops.

So turns out DSTV logic isn't so...uh... logical after all.

But, there are things like VPN's, and remote sharing software, so back to square one.
Not really. You could set a 4 to 5 device concurrent limit etc and still use ip tracking but a single is insane. I mentioned it in the other thread, I reckon a portion of this is streaming cost for DSTV, they trying to manage that opex.

Whatever they hoping to achieve - the way they have gone about it, is beyond stupid.

LOL - When your lies catches up with you.
You can only bullsheet people so long.

"However, Mawela asserts that limiting streaming to one device was working well and that they had seen an uptick in DStv streaming-only subscriptions."

Well worth the millions in performance bonus.
Stupid shareholders - hope they lose their money by not kicking DStv to listen to subscribers.
