Hi,

I am new to this forum so hopefully this is the wright place to post this message?

I have a question about setup on two Draytek routers.

I have two Draytek Routers (2830 vN and 2860 N)
I have a single copper connection into my premises for my internet connection.
I have accounts with two separate ISP's
I need to use VOIP so have the 2830 vN router connected on the ground floor of my office and this is the router that I plug my copper connection into.
I need to provide WIFI and internet on the next level of my premises so have connected the two routers together using the WAN2 port on each one.

On the 2830 the WAN2 connection type is set to "none"
On the 2860 the WAN2 connection type is set to "PPPoE"

I have enabled wired passthrough on the 2830
I have link lights between the two but cannot get the 2860 to dial up

Any thoughts or suggestions are most appreciated.

Thank you very much

Craig

Hi Craig,

Welcome to the forum.
I'll be happy to assist with your DrayTek query.

In your configuration, the Vigor2830Vn needs to see the Vigor2860n as a LAN device.

To resolve your issue: rather than connecting the interlinking cable from the Vigor2860n's WAN2 to the Vigor2830Vn's WAN2 port, instead connect the 2860n's WAN2 port to one of the 2830Vn's LAN ports.

That should then allow your V2860 to dial through the V2830.

Let me know how that goes, and whether I can assist further.

Hi There,

Thank you so much, this has sorted out the connection to the 2830 and my PPPoE on the 2860 now dials and connects. Any thoughts as to why i cannot get internet via the 2860?
