Dual SIM solution revealed by MTN

This then works as follows:
I have my uber phone with my primary SIM in it.
I have my cheap R150 phone with my secondary SIM in it.
When I go fishing on my Ski, I redirect my primary SIM to my secondary SIM, and take that cheap phone and SIM with me.
When I get back, I cancel the redirect.

Problem is:
- Redirecting kills the Caller ID functionality, which is really annoying.
- The work related SMS' I receive on the secondary phone I then have to transfer back to the primary phone to make use of, I would prefer that SMS' get received on both phones as an option.

I solve this problem by storing SMS' on the sim card and swapping the sim card between my phones as needed, this service does not fit my requirement.

I have been using MTN Dual Call for the last 12 years and still use this. I would like to summarize as follows:
1. Both Sim cards can be on at the same time
2. When a call is made to the primary number, it rings and after about 15 seconds of it not being answered it diverts automatically to the secondary sim if that is on, alternatively to the Voicemail. If you also do not answer the Voicemail, it diverts to the Voicemail.
3. Voicemail is only one Voicemail box that can be listened to on any of the two sims by calling 100
4. My voice minutes (I am still on Procall 600) are used by both sims.
5. My data bundle is used by both sims
6. I get only one bill at the end of the month
7. I can send SMSes, MMSes from the secondary number with the only "problem" that it is sent under the secondary sim number and not the primary number.
8. All smses sent to the primary number will only appear on the primary number
9. I can call the secondary sim from the primary number (I got the number when I sent a sms) and vice versa.
10. I some-one calls the secondary sim and it is not on it goes straight to the Voicemail number.
11. I have BLACKBERRY BIS and BES active on both sims (did this after the company decided to give Blackberry's to everybody and I thought it is a bad phone and purchased a new Iphone 4 in the UK, cut the primary sim and requested BES and BIS to be activated on the secondary sim) and it does not cost anything more.

It is a great service and I only hope that I will not be required to pay an additional R10 per month from now as it was free up to date. I can however understand that MTN wants to regularize this service as some of my friends use the service where the secretary carries the secondary sim to answer all his unanswered calls.

there are some nokia-lookalikes (chinese obviously) that have that functionality. tv too. have seen a number of them for sale on bidorbuy. at own risk, off course... :)

This is good. I don't use all of my inclusive airtime in a month so now I can share with my sister (I'm always buying her airtime anyway).

EDIT: perhaps I'll just put the R10/m towards cell insurance.

Insurance is a lot more than R10.00. :)

Please note this is not applicable for Top-up contracts, which is really backwards

Oh #%^&! There goes my idea. :/

Can anyone from MTN please tell me when / where this will be available in Bloemfontein? So far I have had no joy from any of the local outlets. The best the MTN call centre managed to do was give me the contact details for all the local outlets.
