I have had a dualview for quite a few years.
In Feb my decoder packed up and I was told I had to take it to the local dealer.
I had to pay and swop out my decoder.
On Saturday we had a power failure and when the decoder booted up it showed an error code on the decoder. I unplugged the decoder and left it.
The next morning I turn it on, it scans and connects! Joy all round.
Then later that day the power went down again and once again it does not boot up. Again I unplug it hoping it will reset by itself, no luck.
So this morning, I take the decoder to the local dealer who tells me I need to pay(again) and swop out the decoder. Apparently the software "crashed".
Also the warranty on the swop out unit is only three months! Two months out of warranty period.
When I asked to speak to senior tech he also informed me that they are unable to "re-install" the software and that I probably would have to take my unit to Randburg if I wanted this done.
So my question is, how is it possible that software could crash due to power failure? And obviously if they want the old unit it means that those are recycled and "swopped" out with faulty units.
Has anybody else had this and is there a way one could "flash" the unit without having to schlepp all the way to Randburg?
