Also had the same disconnect on Sunningdale [102] was Dbn in general down?

Your line speed is approximately 56.6 Kbps or 6.9 kBytes/sec

your IP is 196.34....

256kbs package Tower 36 Mal Park :(

Any clues on when Hillcrest will be covered? Or would we be able to boost our connection somehow? I live next the Post Office in Hillcrest and they have a nice big tower I am sure I could climb up, hehe.

Is there anyone on the Bluff that is currently using MyWireless? If so would u mind helping me out with a signal and modem test - I'm getting a Woosh modem in the next few weeks, and I wanna check the modem does work on the Sentech network before signing up for the unbundled option...

lewstherin, the whole of the Bluff is pretty well covered except around the Wentworth hospital area as I believe there are some blank spots there.
The Tower is on the corner of Bluff and Beacon Roads, you cannot miss it.

Thanks Pro - I have checked it out since you let you me know where it is. I'm more concerned about getting my Woosh modem tested (once it arrives here), cos I'm obviously not going to sign up if the modem doesn't work [;)]

Thanks for the offer - that will be gr8 [:)]. I will contact you when I finally have the modem on hand - probably in a few weeks...

DBNNet try reseting your modem and see if that helps I had a hard time getting on to :)

Cerberus, by "resetting" do you mean using the internal reset button/contact strip?
I have not tried that.
This disconnect problem started last week... is quite intermittent, and can last for hours at a time. It has not re-occurred since
19:02 this evening though… but could well start again. (I have heard that there are also complaints from users on the Sunningdale tower … but this is still to be confirmed).
I am a little concerned somehow (call it a hunch) that this problem could be related to the temperature, or use of the modem. When I switch it on… the modem is still cold and the disconnects are frequent…. As time goes on, the modem warms up… and the disconnects are far less frequent???
If I leave the unit on… but without activity… the modem cools.. and the disconnect start to re-occur again. I’m currently testing this theory by downloading non-stop… and so far (since 19:02) no disconnects!! Weird!

dbnnet, I am sitting on Sunningdale with exactly the same problem. Its highly intermittant. Also once connected I often have to wait up till a minute before a web page starts loading but once underway the page itself comes down fine. (I think the error was 678 on logon).

I didn't get any reply to this, and I am capped, so not sure if it went through.
