I connect to Durban North [60] and have experiencing severe connection/disconnection problems all day (Sat) [V] . Durban North has been very stable since it was switched on. Anyone else experiencing similar problems?
 
Things seem to be back to normal here for the past hour and half [:)] and I hope it stays this way [}:)].

No probs on 36 at all. Everything going smoothly :)

Malec: I dont think so, I drove past with my modem yesterday, and couldnt find anything.

Quick question to all Dbn ppl, is anyone in Dbn suffering as badly as the ppl in Jhb/Cpt? It would seem Durban has the best bandwidth allocation by the smaller number of Dbn complainants...

No, not nearly as bad, I have heard of 3/4 ppl having probs, but not many at all.

DBN takes it's feed directly from IS (Sentech Durban North to IS Durban).
This may be one reason.... but yes our speeds do appear
to be better (Note: I say better.... not great) :)

Yo ppl
I was going to go visit ProASM to get my Woosh modems tested before signing up. However he seems to have disappeared for a while. Could anyone in the Durban city/Bluff areas help me test my modems? Basically the test would be to see if an existing subscriber's account can be used with my modems - if it works then I'm signing up [:)]

Are there any people in the Bluff/Jacobs area experiencing the same problems as me. I connect to the Bluff tower, which is 1.1km from me, but downloads of 1 Meg files takes on average 12.5 MINUTES. Sentech says that 4 or 5% of their users are experiencing this problem, I say nonsense.

Your download could be slow because of the general poor speeds on the network, or it could be because of the file location you are trying to download from.

bot, speeds in Durban were well above the "JHB average" until about 3 weeks ago
when suddenly we were reduced to that of a 28.8k modem.

/edit : As at 21h30 speeds have improved (thanks to Rodent's discovery)
