Hi all,

Does anybody have any first hand experience with free dvd backup software ?

I have been using dvd decrypter and dvd shrink the last few years until it wouldn't backup the newer titles anymore.

The I used Ripit4me with excellent results until this weekend.
I am having trouble backing up my new dvd`s.

Help would be appreciated.

Thanx

try CloneDVD but its shareware so can only use it for so many days.

Try loading DVD43 before you use DVD decrypter and DVD Shrink...

FairUse Wizard, been using it for over a year making backups of the kid's Pixar & Disney movies... Lite Ed is free, paid edition gives SMP support for dual/quad core...

Hi Garyvdh,

Thanx for the tip. DVD43 did the job

Cheers

You are welcome! ;)

Now having said that... you may not want to leave DVD43 running all the time. I usually only load it when I need it. The reason is that it can interfere with other software like VirtualCD programs and CD Burning software.

Just take it out of your startup folder and leave an icon for it on your desktop. That way you can load it just when you need it.

We make copies of all of my daughters DVD's otherwise she just scratches the hell out of them.

Me being the bastard that I am let her buy her own dvds :D
They seem to last longer that way

i wish i started backing up my dvd's earlier...

....my die hard I and II and the friends series, has seen better days
