Hey guys, hope you can help..

I want to store some of my dvds onto my pc but i have been struggling to do so. I have three movies on my pc that are in .AVI format with very good quality. The problem is all the progarms iv used as so hard to use and the quality is just cr*p. Any suggestion/tutorials on your prefered program?

BTW: i dont have like 6gigs space per a movie so a nice compression would be great. I have been using DVDX but as i said its hard to use and the quality is pure rubbish.

Any help, thanks alot.

take a look at fair use wizard easy to use with great quality.

DVDsmithmovie backup
Was posted on the free programs thread.

Haven't tried it yet boot looks, ok.
otherwise:
ConvertX to DVD
DVD fab hd decrypter
Nero?

If quality is the problem then get an extra large drive, 500GB to 1 TB and store all DVD's uncompressed as ISO on drive and use PC by using a virtual drive to launch the DVD when required. Anything else mean compressing or dilution of some sorts. Use something like CyberLink PowerDVD 8.0 to play the media from the virtual drive. If you then get a modern motherboard with build in HDMI and HDCP or the latest 4850/4870 or other GPU cards then you have gone near full circle in using the PC as a real media centre. As I said all or most of the so called DVD programs do some compression to reduce size for staorage.

Protected content is easilly overcome by using AnyDVD HD 6.4.3.2

I use ImTOO DVD copy and it works like a charm. Playbeck on my MVix 780 is just as good as the actual DVD. :D

So without using a virtual drive what are other converters to keep the quality good ? Don't mean to jack the thread.

yeah what about Dr. Divx? It takes a while but quality is quite good (according to me)

Edit: oh and you can make a DVD 700mb without menu's etc

Thanks guys, Awsome going to download one at a time - at the moment AutoGK. ill let you know how it works out.

BTW how long does it normally take to rip a dvd, an average 1h30m dvd?

AutoGK has always worked well for me. Most of the .avi's that you find on torrent sites are made with AutoGK. Good choice. :)

OK, I want you to forget everything that anyone else has suggested to you, they are all crap and too difficult to use (sorry... but it is true). The program you are looking for is called FairUseWizard and it is the only one you need to hassle with. It is good enough to register, but the free version is also just perfect!

Trust me.. this is the program you want. You want mess around with anything else once you have used this. It is easy enough to do it all with one click ... but can be customised more if need be.

Seriously, don't waste any more time. This is the program you had in mind when you first created this thread. Seriously.
