Has anyone heard of this contraption?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E_cig

Seems like quite an awesome idea; all the nicotine with none of the tar or filthy smell. Has anyone on the forums got/tried one?

Also, where would be the best place in SA to get one? They seem to go for around R600

www.twisp.co.za is also decent, i have some drops, 2 bottles if anyone is interested for free as well.

"no rigorous, peer-reviewed studies have been conducted showing that the electronic cigarette is a safe and effective nicotine replacement therapy."[5] that is what worries me about electronic cigi's there is no testing that can say for sure it is not harmful.

I must say though that people when you go think this electronic cigi is most amazing invention since the toilet :p

As keen as I am to get one of these, I just can't see myself spending R700 on it...

Would probably work out cheaper to get one imported from the US ($60)

For free dude:eek:

PM me please please please

I am really keen on one of these, but I just don't have the money at the moment to fork out R700 on my nicotine addiction...

An acquaintance of ours was a heavy smoker. He stopped, started using this device and a month later he had a heart attack.

I doubt it is related to the contraption (would have had that heart attack from smoking anyway, I guess), but it stuck in my mindd.

This + alcohol = bad
If you've been smoking for 10 years, and you're drunk one night... the odds are that you'll try to light your E-cig.

One of my wifes clients is using this now and was telling her that its helping a lot. With the current cost of fags this seems to be quiet reasonable - R20+ per day for your smokes comes to R600+ per month.

Twisps start at R900 for the crappy plastic one and R1000 for a decent one, bloody pricey.

I'm charging my first e-ciggie, Njoy NRPO.

Very excited, after 3 decades of smoking, this is the best gift I can give my lungs, health and life.

No more ash into my keyboard, no more stinkie clothing, no more pets that hate my cigarette smoke.

Guys I have found the perfect solution at Electronic Cigarette Suppliers. Quite cheap too - don't be fooled by the "cheapos" advertised on tv, cos they only have 1 battery and no spares. I must point out that it only costs about R700 for the initial outlay. Thereafter costs are only relative to your needs, but on average it works out at about R300 a month. Fags cost more than that, but what about the health factor. Imagine no more chest ailments. If you are intending buying an electronic cigarette, you must check this blog first. Really informative!
