Did anyone else get this e-mail today? Notice the horrible spelling
Dear TelkomInternet customer
from 2 June 2009, local data will be charged at only R15.00 per GB!
We would also like to use this opportunity to answer some frequently asked questions about local data and our free local data promotion.
Due to a regulatory change, we are required to change our current products to include local data. In essence, the regulatory requirement stipulated that we are not allowed to cap our users on local data.
In order for TelkomInternet to adhere to this regulatory requirement, we introduced free promotional local data with each package. However, if the promotional free local data on your specific package was exceeded, TelkomInternet customers were charged R25.55 per GB since 1 February 2008.
However, as part of our drive to provide greater value to our customers, TelkomInternet is pleased to announce that as from 1 June 2009, we will drop the price per GB to R15.00
To find out how much free data is allocated to your specific package, kindly visit www.telkomsa.net or contact 10215.
Itâ?Ts very important to note that there is a charge for local data used additional to your current fixed monthly subscription.
To view your local data used, please use our online usage tracker tool on: https://secure.telkomsa.net/titracker/. In addition, please ensure that you subscribe to your daily e-mail usage notification under â?omail detailâ?.
As we are not allowed to cap you on local data, it is imperative for you to ensure that you protect your TelkomInternet account against hacking by:
Changing your modem/router password. Contact 10215 to find out how.
Changing your TelkomInternet account password regularly on https://online.telkomsa.net/pmt/index.html
Making sure to install a good Internet security suit (Anti-Virus, Anti-Spy ware and Firewall) and to update it daily.
