E-mail > switching contracts ?

My brother cancelled his data contract last month and today - 31 August 2011 - is his final day.

He's taking a NEW data contract (different SIM, different number etc) tomorrow.

What happens to his email address on the old contact?
Is he able to use the same email address?

I'm aware the email address will be different as the old started with his SIM number and the new will start with his new SIM - but can he migrate?
Maybe transfer an alias?

If he wants the old alias then he would need to delete the alias before the number becomes deleted.He will then be able to use the old alias on the new email account , but the old emails will then also be deleted.

Is it too late? Or does the number get reserved for a period after the contract ends - so there's still time?

Also - where is alias management? The portal?

EDIT : oh - and why does the contract expire midday on the last day instead of midnight?

If he wants the old alias then he would need to delete the alias before the number becomes deleted.He will then be able to use the old alias on the new email account , but the old emails will then also be deleted.

Or if the number is already deleted he can just re-create it on the new number.

Login to Vodamail, you'll find Alias management under settings.

After seeing Vodacom is the most expensive provider by far - he's taking someone else.

On the mail - he gets a vodamail address with his phone though? So he can do the alias thing on his phone number?
