That's because tolling will only start on 30 April 2012. I can hardly wait (for the drama, that is):)

You probably have inadvertently disabled the automatic beep function while installing it. Have you tried manually emitting a beep when driving under a gantry? Don't worry if someone sees or hears you, they probably know you're an idiot already .. so next time you go under one just take a deep breath, put your lips together and make a loud .. 'BEEP' sound.

Good, see your e-tag is in fact working correctly and your toll fees have now been paid.

@OP - I do hope you are aware that SANRAL is now allowed to deduct money from your bank account any time they want.

And that there will be admin fees charged which they told you nothing about?

Currently it will not Beep - the Gantries are off, however if you travel to Rustenburg, for example, they have existing EToll booths where you will hear two beeps since your account is not active yet.
 
Actually, I seen a ad in the paper this morning that says the e-tag will start beeping, they are testing the devices but don't worry, money is not being deducted yet.

I lol'd for all the fools that have this POS installed!

I phoned SANRAL and they said that the gantries are still offline so the e-tag isn't supposed to beep yet.
 
For what is usually a pretty helpful and mild-mannered forum, a lot of guys seem to be experiencing their "time of the month" on this thread at the moment...
