Lol, towards the end of last year i met someone who does admin in their offices. She told me then that they had roughly 130 000 people registered for etags and the majority of that was car rental companies, shipping companies, the elderly etc because it is easier for them to just comply. SANRAL is lying through their teeth trying to get people to believe anyone has registered for their terrible racketeering.

Don't forget the provincial gubbinment also bought tags for their entire fleet.

That was last year though. Still, looking at the other cars on the road, seeing an e-tag is the exception, and I travel the road they are most likely looking the gain the most from, N1.

I think civil disobedience and taking alternative routes will prove to be too tedious and eventually motorists will just give in and pay to make things easier. Hopefully I'm wrong.
 
Have they managed to pass the Amendment to the act that they would need though, I can't remember?

Still got to go through council of provinces. I wonder if the DA can block it there?

So again, SANRAL are claiming we will do xyz, when they don't have the legal framework in place yet... go figure

It's still with the council or Provinces.

And I'm hoping that even if they pass it, it will still face some other constitutional Challenges.
