There is one thing that disturbs me terribly is the pornographic material that e tv shows over weekends late at night!! There is so much rape and sexual offences in this country that they still have to air such things! Is prostitution not an offence in South Africa? If women want to flaunt their naked bodies then they should find some place else to do it! There are many young people still awake at that time of night. Here on a Sunday morning I have to wake up at 3am hoping to see a movie and I get this rubbish!!!Then they want us to pay tv licenses!!

I know, have you seen the disturbing rubbish they have on at 7 a.m. on a Sunday morning. My child could be watching for Xochiquetzal's sake.

I agree completely, they still have to keep airing these things, more even, to try to bring those statistics down.

I'm much more concerned about people who are so mentally disturbed that they worry about young people seeing a bit of nudity. And old people, that stuff might give them ideas or a stroke. What channel did you say it was on?

What sort of movie are you hoping to see? One with lots of violence? Maybe a nice unrealistic romantic comedy? Perhaps some animated sexist stereotypes?

I'm bothered by the chain of porn ads in one go. Last night I was watching Babel after 12 they went to commercial every 10mins to show their chain of porn ads which took about 5mins. So annoying ruined the whole viewing pleasure for me

This is exactly what I have a problem with. I don't watch those lame adult movies on etv but when I'm watching a normal movie late at night and they have 5 minutes of repeat porn ads between the movie, that's where I draw the line. I stopped watching etv late at night because of this cr@p.

I see your point, and I semi sort of agree. You are only forgetting one thing, if kids want to watch porn, they will watch porn, be it on TV, computers or even their cellphones. All etv is doing, is saving kids some bandwidth.

1. Studies have shown that more widely available pornography actually brings down sexual offences (this was revealed in the TopTV porn drama). In America there is probably more sexual crimes than in Europe because Americans are like "OMG! A nipple! Think about the kids!!!) while in Europe there are many nudist/naturist resorts and people are much more overall chilled view about sex (lets not even mention the Dutch lol). And I cant and wont sit and look at rape and sexual offences as they are happening, I'd intervene and stop it. I stil lwant to look at pornography thought if I feel so inclined.

2. They are trying to decriminalise that. There is no reason for it to be illegal according to me. In fact, hopefully it will enable tax revenue to be collected (even if its under declared).

3. It not the women that flaunt their bodies on ETV, they do it in a pornographic movie and ETV buys rights to it and it gets aired. The actresses has no part in ETV airing it, logic fail.

4. Where are their parents? Why are the kids up at 3am?

5. ETV has no say in TV licences and does not benefit from it, direct your ire to the Department of Communications and parliament.

In conclusion:
Really Cindy, sex isn't that big a deal and porn just shows sex. There is really no reason to have sex and porn cause stress and angst and its much healthier to introduce the subject of it at a age appropriate level than to not mention it at all. One can hardly call those ETV movies porn anyway, they are very very tame.
