I keep getting a E143-4 error between my Explora and my 2P HD Decoder which are connected by RF Out to RF Out. My Explora is my primrary and the error only appears on the secondary 2P

Any ideas?
Thanks

You need to have one as rf in depending on the settings

The installer said it must be RF Out to RF Out. I can't remember the exact reason he gave but assured me that was the right setup.

Nope one is rf in and the other is rf out, when was this installed? Think the primary is in

Rf out to rf out will work. Ensure that that the secondary decoder is set to rf out for extraview.

I think that is the setup I have now. I did check all the cables to check if they were loose and will change the heartbeat cable first if I get the message again before I change the setup.

Thanks

Easy way to check if heart cable is in order is to remove first from secondary decoder and switch tv link on Primary decoder. Then check with a multimeter at the end of the heart beat cable I the secondary decoder if there is a reading between 10 and 12 volts. If nothing, cable is faulty.

That sounds like unnecessary PT because you can view on the UI when the one decoder is transmitting/receiving the heartbeat. Its in the XtraView settings.

Could it possibly be the DSTV switch. Moisture got into the cable from damaged cables outside and it blew at one of the switch inputs.

Please assist. My secondary decoder (5U) shows "no communication from primary" which is a 2P PVR. The secondary decoder works on channel 100 but when you change channels it starts with the message. Believe my connection is according to advice on the forum. Can you please assist with advice on both connections and also settings on both decoders.
