Hope sum1 can come to my assistance here - I seem to have bricked my vodafone E220.
I tried to flash the modem with the standard huawei firmware the process started & failed after few minutes at the "updating..." screen. when i checked the modem i found it to now be empty.

Now when i plug it in its dead as a door nail.
How can i gain access to the modem to re-load the firmware?

Any suggestions help?

The above post is strangely similar to the one below:

I tried to flash the modem with the standard huawei dashboard (to use an mtn sim), the process started & failed after few minutes at the "updating..." screen. when i checked the modem i found it to now be empty.

this after i succesfully flashed the firmware to version 3.2.1 last night downloaded from the vodacom website. when i stick the modem into the pc it gets recognised by xp as a huawei (prolli cause the drivers still existi), but running vmc flash the dash says it cannot find the modem.

anyone had this? can it still be saved?

Does the modem show up in My Computer as a device still ?

No the computer does not see the modem anymore....

Hope there is a solution other than to take it to VOdacom:confused:

not quite the same issue, but same cause. i could still see the modem in device manager and the 1st time i replugged it after it was "empty" the huawei drivers re-installed.
took me most of ystrday 2 sort out.

ginggs has a post somewhere where he was able to unbrick after a similar situ. didn't help me, but it may help you dark one.
