Mine also tends to get quite hot - signal strength about 20%.

I am loving 3.6! But my modem is now twice as hot as it used to get. I wonder if the E272 will have a built-in cooling thingy...
[*EDIT*]: I was thinking now, if the E220 gets this hot already on 3.6, will it be able handle 7.2 after that Firmware Upgrade?
Had a customer late last night, just before closing time. He said he saw a "white light" and his modem stopped working. I smelled the modem, and it was smelling like something burnt out. Plugged in my Machine, smelled more smoke, the green light flashed only once when plugged in, then it dies.
Could be over-heating I guess, but wouldn't be surprised if the poor E220 got pushed into a pool of unfriendly liquid.Had a customer late last night, just before closing time. So what exactly inside burns out?
I dunno. V3G mentioned something about the radio transmitters. My guess would be that. I mean, if that burns out, damage would spread over the whole modem.
