this problem is driving me insane. this needs to be fixed. changed fuses and swapped the flash relay but no dice.

if anyone in cape town, preferably northern suburbs can recommend a good auto-electrician id appreciate it. got good service from a shop in paarden island a while back so ill go google for that name in the meantime.

thanx.

was the shop perhaps autowizards or maybe zeemax (who are not really auto electricians)

anyway they are now in Maitland, the owners there actually are quite connected with BMWs, in terms of sourcing parts and diagnosing issues, infact one of the owners currently has two e36 M3s.

it was zeemax yes. are autowizards dedicated autoelectricians?

yes autowizards are dedicated auto electricians, they have all the diagnostic machines etc, the owner is sort of the House of cars, if he can't fix your car nobody can, not in Cape Town atleast.

zeemax are more on the mechanics

what a pity. been a while since ive been on. actually got there name from that forum when i went there. must have gone down in the years after.

they used to be one the sponsors of that forum but their name has been removed

I came into this thread expecting to read, "My indicators keep switching on when I hit the lever. This is not suppose to happen in a BMW."

I leave disappointed.

by the way Akes, Autowizards primarily does insurance work, so if they screw up, they lose all that work so their quality of workmanship is very high.

Yes the chick asked cash or insurance? I was like :wtf: will report back monday

forgot to update. too just over an hour. checked diagnostics, etc. it was the flash relay. 1k later and it was so nice to have indicators. they got a second hand part a couple of streets away. collected it and fit it.

before they bought the part jody came to chat about how they could fix it. cost implications etc. which i appreciated. all in all a positive experience.

Good to hear things worked out.

Did you perhaps go to the other half of the workshop, where all the monster BMWs are parked?

right lets try this again

having a similar problem with my E36 tail lights at the moment.

see corroded hole in plate

this corrosion on the galvanised steel contact plates causing intermittent operation :(

anyone knows of a local suplier of replacement LED lights please let me know. I know I can buy off ebay but prefer local thanks

yeah the fun part of the workshop, where you find modern classics either being restored, stripped, or being subjected to high powered modifications.

I thought it would have especially appealed to you since there are currently two beautiful examples of the e36 M3 standing there.
