E46 Crank shaft sensor problem

Well this is why I said BMW should quote him and they can do it fairly easily..

They have the right tools so its a quick job, maybe 45minutes.

Fxit_man - dude, stop bombarding us with this wayward pics of the flux capacitor...its not the problem!

Now, get us a pic of the REAL problem - ze Crankshaft sensor!

Won't the REAL problem please stand up, please stand up, please stand up - (Crankshaft sensor rapping) Coz I'm Crank Sensor Yes I'm the REAL Problem all these other Flux sensors are just imitating, so won't the REAL problem please stand up, please stand up, please stand up!

What would a Alfa Romeo Fanboi know about BMWs? don't be jealous because your Alfakie doesn't have a flux capacitor

I own a 320d e46 and upon seeing this thread had my Flux Capacitor checked out.

There wasn't enough flow through it, so that's been adjusted and as soon as I get a stretch of road long enough, I'm ripping it up!

What type of crankshaft position sensor does that car use? Does it screw into the engine or does it sit close to the crankshaft pulley (which has teeth in it with a square bit). Depending on the type of sensor it can be fairly easy to diagnose if it's damaged.

Is that thing seriously called a Flux Capacitor? I couldn't find a single serious page on the internet explaining what it's purpose is or even what it is for that matter.
