E620 Vista Update

I don't know if this would help, but I belong to an email forum and got this this afternoon. Try it. I don't think it will hurt.

Huawei has provided a Vista driver and firmware update for the E220. It is available from our website (http://www.mtn.co.za/?pid=272898) as a beta simply because we (MTN) have not completed all of the testing and cannot guarantee that it will work on all Vista installations – particularly Vista on older machines. Once formally approved, the software will be shipped with future orders but in the meantime users can use the software from our site to get online."

I have seen this problem before on XP. You will need to roll back/ uninstall your current drivers and reinstall the drivers - preferably the ones downloaded from the PC/ Laptop manufacturer. This solved the problem on XP.

I have checked the process of 64bit MTN driver for Vista. Huawei has begun the work. But there is one problem between QUALCOMM HSDPA chipset and 64bit Vista. We are waiting for the solution from Qualcomm now.

The MTN 64bit driver will launch in the beginning of April, if Qualcomm provides the solution on time. We will inform you the process for the issue ASAP.

Cons: this drivers are unsigned so on VIsta businnes you have to bypass this
COns2: Vista Performance and compatibility update prevents from using unsigned drivers so next tuesday rememeber not to apply this update :(

Hi All

First time poster here :-$

I see alot of problems with the e620 but none quite like mine. Everytime I insert the E620 in my HP nw9440 laptop with Vista Business. the machine freezes and then I get a B.S.O.D with no specific error. Is there something specific I should check for?

Please help.
 
Vodacom Card compatible with Vista Business

I'm using a Vodacom e620 without any problems on Vista Business. The vodacom card is almost 2 years old.
 
Hi again

Figured out the problem. Vista decided on using the Texas Instruments drivers and those were what was causing the failure. Vista also has a generic cardbus driver and that works like an absolute charm.

Just needed to look a little further than my nose is long. hehe:D

I have a similar problem. The E620 Huawei works well on my laptop using the XP Home OS but after loading it on my daughters Acer loaded with Vista, I get all the correct messages regarding Authentication etc., but at the very last minute just before it is supposed to link up with the MTN server I get a message "Fail create RasEntry" (error 5). Is this to do with denied access?

I just installed the E620 card on my laptop (XP/SP2) i got the drivers from the MTN website and it works great. Damn what a difference from dailup. Thnak god for BROADBAND WIRELESS:D:D:D:D:Dp:p:p:p

Is there an updated link ? ( for the mtn dashboard and huawei e620 drivers)

I don't know what's going on on MTN's website now, I can't find any downloads! :mad:

@berndp: I can help you out with the 11.18.0.60.00 firmware update for the E620, PM me.
 
Using the only link I can get to work on the MTN site for Dashboard/E220 drivers seems to want to download the software for the E620. Does anyone know if this is compatible, or will it be a wasted download?
