Hey guys...
So I installed my Big typhoon yesterday, and Im ready to take the plunge. This is my first OC, and I have absolutely no clue what im doin. I have gained knowlede by reading as much as I can, this is how far ive come:

1. Im running a Intel 975XBX Badaxe mobo, Ive already soldered the BIOS jumper so that I can access the overclocking options in the BIOS.

2. Replaced my stock cooler with a Thermaltake big typhoon. Im happy to report that my CPU temp only goes up to 40 degrees under heavy load. (tested with prime95)

3. Im running 2x1024 samsung ddr2 667mhz RAM, Sad I know, but Im not looking to overclock too much, seeing that is is my first try.

4. Ive installed a extra fan directly over my RAM, for extra cooling, and my Box is well ventilated.

OK, so now I have to start fiddeling with the BIOS. From what ive read is I have to set the FSB:DRAM to 1:1 then slowly raise the FSB. correct me if Im wrong? Im not quite sure bout the voltages yet, but apparently its safe to take the Vcore setting to 1.5V instead of "automatic"? What else must I adjust?

Can someone please give me some step by step advice? Really dont want to fry anything...
Maybe there is someone here that has overclocked with a similar setup?

Er... heard the Intel boards are no oc frieindly. Google :)
I'm only familiar with Gigabyte/Asus Motherboards.
Basically just raise/drop the mutiplyer by 1 and raise the fsb bit by bit.

Hi There

First don't fiddle with voltages just yet.

Start by setting the ram divider so your ram runs at 667 and your FSB at 1333. That will put your CPU at 3Ghz

If it doesn't post, drop the FSB down to 1066 and the ram to 667 again.

ok, well, with that ram you can only raise the fsb up to 333mhz, which with the cpu's mulitplier @ 9, it will give an overclock of about 3ghz. not bad, and i'm sure your mobo will be able to that fsb

got it, 3ghz, without even blinking....

had to set the RAM clockspeed to 533mhz, so that is is equal to 667 again after the OC
